HNELHD’s Community Partnerships and Integrated Services are seeking applications from qualified General Practitioners to participate in the after-hours and weekend roster for a medical service to adults and adolescents who have been sexually assaulted and referred to the HNELHD Sexual Assault Service. Successful applicants will provide medical and forensic care and consultation as required. 

Applicants will:
  • Be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
  • Have availability to participate with a minimum of 3 shifts per month in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time
  • Provide best practice, evidence based clinical services to achieve quality patient outcomes and provide trauma-informed care
  • Undertake supervision and education within the clinical environment of junior medical staff and other relevant staff to foster safe clinical practice. For example, forensic examiners in training or shadowing

A third COVID-19 dose is a requirement for Category A positions, as is one dose of the current Southern hemisphere influenza vaccine registered for use by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. COVID-19 booster doses are highly recommended for all other health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases - this is a Category A position. Please read and understand NSW Health policy directive (PD2022_030). All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in the policy.
