Visiting Medical Officer in General Practice - HNELHD - Peel Sector - Multi Purpose Service Sites - Manilla, Quirindi and Barraba
The Management of the Peel Sector, HNELHD is seeking applications from General Practitioners to provide Visiting Medical Officer services to the Multi Purpose Service sites of Manilla, Quirindi and Barraba.

Quirindi is a community hospital with a 24 hour emergency department and capacity for up to 20 inpatients.  Quirindi, known as the 'nest in the hills', is located in the picturesque Liverpool Plains, less than an hours' drive to Tamworth and not too far from Newcastle. The town is surrounded by stunning landscapes and picture-perfect fields of bright sunflowers. The autumn leaves changing in Spring are a sight to behold! People who live in Quirindi love the rural lifestyle and enjoy living in a close-knit community- where people are always willing to ‘lend a hand’. Quirindi and surrounds have great primary and high schools. Rugby, soccer, netball and swimming are some popular sporting activities.

Manilla is the largest Multi-Purpose Health Service (MPS) in New South Wales. Manilla also provides a 24 hour emergency department and a range of acute and aged care beds. Manilla is nestled at the junction of the Manilla and Namoi rivers and is only a short drive to Lake Keepit and Split Rock Dam. This makes Manilla an ideal location for people who enjoy water sports, fishing, boating and camping. The town itself is full of heritage buildings and gives the feeling of stepping back into the past whilst remaining in the modern world.

Barraba is a multi-purpose health service with 16 residential aged care beds and 6 acute beds. An emergency department is available 24 hours per day. Located on a bend on the Manilla Rive, Barraba is an outdoor lovers dream and holds a reputation as a bird watchers paradise. 4-wheel driving, camping, and hiking are just a few of the adventure that can be had in nearby national parks and forests. The town itself is close knit with an old world charm.

All towns are located within an accessible distance of the city of Tamworth and the Tamworth airport. Both facilities also offer HealthOnes which provide general practitioner services to the local community.
