  • Qualification of a Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number) with demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the position and a commitment to maintaining a professional skill and knowledge base
  • Previous experience in providing social work services in health settings
  • A well developed understanding of the psycho-social impact of acute and chronic health conditions and in the range of related social work interventions required in hospital social work clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse problems, set priorities, apply a range of options to develop solutions and demonstrated experience in leading, conducting and evaluating quality activities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development, evidence based practice and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
