What you'll be doing
The Clinical Trials Data Officer will be responsible for supporting all clinical trials conducted at SCHN, through the provision of direct support and advice in relation to data management systems. The responsibilities of the role are non-exhaustive and extend the key accountabilities as listed in the Position Description. Examples of the tasks required for this position include: - Provide day-to-day operational and general management support with clinical research data systems, particularly in relation to the Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS). - Creating study builds, implementing protocol and contract amendments, patient data management within CTMS for clinical trial units. - Provide support and management of patient data entry into CTMS for clinical trial units as required. - Support with financial management in the CTMS including data entry and support in developing statements of work. - Implement and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to improve existing processes to ensure high level data quality in completeness and compliance. - Engage in the compliance of capturing the minimum data set (MDS) in the CTMS and conduct periodic data quality audits in SCHN trial units to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data collected and/or managed. - Support the design, preparation/collation and production of reports and extracts for key stakeholders on a routine and ad-hoc basis. - Provide oversight and support in the management of the eISF for clinical trial units as required. - Provide support for CTMS training to clinical trial units and supporting department staff members.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience with CTMS and other clinical research systems in a clinical research environment, or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Experience in the development, management, and reporting of data and data systems for clinical research including clinical trials (Electronic Data Capture systems, Clinical Trial Management System, electronic Medical Records, participant recruitment portals and applications)
  3. Understanding of regulatory and ethical guidelines relevant to the conduct of clinical research
  4. Experience in training and onboarding staff in electronic health systems (such as CTMS, eMR etc).
  5. Demonstrated ability to interpret study protocols to guide data management workflows, CTMS builds and us of other clinical data systems to support clinical trials.
  6. 1.Demonstrated ability to exercise autonomy and initiative in relation to day-to-day problem solving, communication and decision-making including project, time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, have attention to detail, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a highly paced environment.
  7. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in liaising with a variety of stakeholders/audiences.
  8. Demonstrate a culture of quality and patient safety in clinical research.
