What you'll be doing
As part of this trend, NSW Health has increased its focus on budget controls, value for money, developing an appropriate balance between clinical and budgetary outcomes and implementing activity based funding.
The Position Holder will facilitate and support the design, monitoring, and implementation of financial management strategies and reforms, as well as initiate and promote best-practice revenue and efficiency strategies across NSW Health to deliver on health system performance and financial targets.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of the NSW Health system, including statutory responsibilities, current challenges and risks, and major cost drivers impacting on financial and budget management and planning
- Advanced skills and demonstrated experience in project planning, management, implementation and review.
- Demonstrated skills in relationship management, influencing, negotiating, consulting and communicating, both oral and written, on complex issues;
- Advanced conceptual thinking and analytical skills;
- High level issues management skills and ability to work within short timeframes on sensitive and complex matters and provide high level advice;
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business, economics, project management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- The position holder must be committed to ethical practice and demonstrate the capacity to implement and manage EEO, the Charter of Principles for a Culturally Diverse Society, and OHS policies and practices.
