Tamworth Hospital is a major referral hospital located in the northern region of the Hunter New England Local Health District. Our 288-bed facility includes a high demand emergency department, Intensive Care, rehabilitation services, a Brain Injury Unit, Diabetes Centre and high dependency unit. Our Maternity service has a 20 bed antenatal and postnatal unit; 4 birthing suits and 2 assessment rooms; and a 7 day Home Midwifery Service. We look after low to high risk pregnancies, with birthing numbers sitting just under 1200 per annum.
We are a social and friendly team and are proud to know that our staff choose to stay within our unit, even when originally on shorter term contracts! Our management team are proactive and foster a collaborative work environment.

Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme
As a Midwife you may be eligible for one of the two Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme offers below (eligibility criteria for each apply)
Midwifery Sign-on Bonus
A $20,000 lump sum sign-on bonus for midwives moving from work in an NSW MM1 and MM2 location to work in an NSW MM3 to MM7 location, or midwives moving from interstate to work in an NSW MM3 to MM7 location (proof of relocation must be provided)*.

You may be eligible for other incentives and benefits under the Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme after your first 12 months of service including a retention incentive of up to $10,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time employees).
*All payments and reimbursements made to part time employees will be on a pro-rata basis
OR
This vacancy may be eligible for an Attraction and Relocation package that includes the following*:
- Attraction incentive of up to $10,000 for the first 12-months
- Retention incentive of up to $10,000 thereafter annually
Attraction and Retention incentives will be paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance on top of your base salary + 11.5% superannuation.

Transferring of incentive packages will depend on the location, position, and time served by the health worker in their current position. Eligibility to transfer existing incentive packages will be determined and approved by the health organisation. Health workers who are receiving incentive packages and are changing or moving positions should discuss the impacts with their manager or local Workforce Rural Health Incentive Team via HNELHD-RuralIncentives@invalidemail.com to discuss your eligibility prior to applying if you are already receiving an incentive package.

Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
Additional Information:
- To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if the candidate holds an appropriate visa, in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
