About the role:
The Registered Midwife is an integral part of the multidisciplinary maternity team providing woman centred care that is focused on the woman's individual needs, expectations and aspirations to achieve optimal birthing outcomes for women and their babies.

Bathurst Health Service: Bathurst Hospital is located 3 hours west of Sydney over the Blue Mountains.  It is a University City, has good transport services throughout the city, buses, trains and airplanes with regular connections to Sydney then interstate.  Large sporting complexes, great restaurants, recreational activities and facilities.  Maternity is a level 4, 5 bed unit with the capacity to surge to 9 beds with a Level 3 Special Care nursery.  In Maternity we have multiple models of care available including Midwifery Group Practice.  The hospital has an ED, 15 bed Surgical Ward, Level 4 ICU, Level 4 Maternity Services, Paediatrics services, Medical Unit with telemetry and palliative care beds, Rehabilitation unit onsite, and TACP beds, large inpatient and outpatient Allied Health support and expanding Ambulatory Care and HITH services.  Educational support is available to staff, enthusiastic and supportive team on the ward, looking for interested and keen staff member to join our team.

Where you’ll be working:

Bathurst Health Service, is a Level C referral facility with 100 beds.  A new MRI suite is underway and the NSW Government has pledged a further $200m for a significant redevelopment due to start in 2024.

Bathurst Hospital Services include allied health, ambulatory care, coronary care, emergency medicine, intensive care (level 4), general medicine, maternity (level 4), mental health drug & alcohol, obstetrics & gynaecology, oncology, paediatrics, pathology, radiology, rehabilitation and surgery services.
