Our Community Mental Health (CMH) Team is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where staff are empowered to thrive.

Achieve Something Great
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS) at Bankstown Community Health Centre. In this role, you will support children, young people (up to 18 years) and their families experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges, delivering recovery focused, trauma informed care within the community.

As part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide therapeutic interventions, comprehensive case management, and work closely with families, schools and community partners to promote safety, resilience and positive outcomes.

This is a pool clinician role, meaning while you’ll be based at Bankstown, there may be opportunities to work across other ICAMHS community sites as service needs evolve.

As a pool clinician, you’ll begin by supporting one of our teams to fill a current vacancy. As new opportunities arise across our mental health services, you may be offered the chance to transition to other teams—providing you with valuable experience and exposure across the diverse services within SWSLHD Community Mental Health.

Future roles may become available at Ingleburn, Bankstown, Campbelltown, Ambarvale, Liverpool, Fairfield, and Wollondilly.

We welcome applications from Allied Health students awaiting confirmation of course completion, conferral or registration.

Are You the Right Fit?
You are a motivated and compassionate mental health professional who enjoys working with children, adolescents and their families in a community setting. You bring strong clinical skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to care.

You will succeed in this role if you have:

  • Experience or a strong interest in child and adolescent mental health.
  • The ability to provide evidence based therapeutic interventions and case management.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working within multidisciplinary teams and community networks.
  • A flexible, proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or CSU Graduates: Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
  • Please provide a detailed description of your interest and motivation in applying for this role highlighting your relevant skills & experience in providing assessment and treatment for consumers of the mental health service.
  • Using an example, describe a time where you have had to work as part of a team to solve a problem. Outline the communication skills used and how you ensured the problem would not occur again.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
