Do you want to contribute to the health and wellbeing of your mob?
Achieve Something Great
Make a meaningful impact by supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal people, families and communities across South Western Sydney. At Macarthur Community Mental Health, you’ll step into a purposeful role that walks alongside Aboriginal people in a way that honours culture, connection and lived experience, providing culturally safe, recovery focused care that sees the whole person — family, community, identity and Country. This work goes beyond clinical care, building trust, strengthening relationships and creating spaces where our mob feel safe, respected and empowered when accessing mental health services. You’ll collaborate with community, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and Aboriginal Medical Services to improve access to care, promote wellbeing and strengthen culturally grounded mental health services, helping shape supports that reflect Aboriginal voices, strengths and resilience for individuals, families and future generations.
What You’ll Bring:
- A strong connection to Aboriginal culture, community and kinship, with a commitment to supporting mob in a culturally safe way
- Confidence advocating for Aboriginal people within health systems and contributing cultural insight to assessments, care planning and treatment
- A collaborative approach, working closely with families, community and multidisciplinary teams
- A passion for recovery oriented, person centred mental health care that honours identity, culture and lived experience
- A willingness to grow your skills, supported by ongoing training, supervision and professional development
Are You the Right Fit?
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting mob and committed to delivering culturally safe, respectful and recovery oriented mental health care. You value working in partnership with families, community and multidisciplinary teams, and you bring a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, kinship and community ways of being. You’re confident advocating for Aboriginal people within health systems and contributing an Aboriginal cultural perspective to assessment, care planning, treatment and discharge. You’re open to building your skills as a mental health professional, with education, training, supervision and support actively encouraged. If you’re seeking a role where your cultural knowledge is valued, your voice is respected and your work makes a genuine difference for Aboriginal communities, this is an opportunity to belong, grow and lead.
If you possess the following, we’d love to hear from you!
- Strong cultural knowledge and connection to Aboriginal community and kinship
- Confidence advocating for Aboriginal people within mental health and broader health systems
- A collaborative approach to working with families, community and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to culturally safe, respectful and recovery oriented mental health care
