The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
The Triage and Assessment Centre (TAC) play a vital role in delivering a comprehensive range of evidence‑based assessments and interventions for individuals seeking mental health support. We are committed to providing high‑quality, recovery‑oriented care that empowers consumers and strengthens community wellbeing. We are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Leader to join our multidisciplinary team. This role requires an individual with expert clinical capability, advanced professional knowledge, and a passion for leading others in the delivery of exceptional mental health care.
As the Team Leader, you will provide strong clinical leadership to ensure the highest standards of consumer care. You will guide the team in delivering strengths‑focused, evidence‑based assessments and interventions, while fostering a culture grounded in recovery principles. A key part of your role will involve developing and implementing systems that support consistent, recovery‑oriented service provision across the Centre. You will also play a central role in supporting the professional growth of clinical staff, offering supervision, guidance, and opportunities for development. In addition, you will oversee essential human resource functions, including rostering, workload allocation, staff support, and the coordination of team meetings, business planning, and quality improvement initiatives.

What you will bring to the role
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA with post-registration qualifications in Mental Health and at least 3 years’ experience working in Mental Health. Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist registered with AHPRA or Social Worker eligible for membership to AASW with substantial experience in mental health.
- Demonstrated extensive mental health clinical skills and experience.
- Demonstrated successful management experience and/or proven ability to provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team including skills and experience in clinical service management and quality improvement programs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change within the workplace, balance competing demands and motivate staff.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and commitment to, a recovery focused model of care, incorporating consumer and carer consultation within the mental health service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary community mental health service issues.
- Current NSWs drivers licence and willingness to use same for work purposes.
