What you'll be doing
The HCIS Manager is responsible for strategic planning, leadership, coordination, and quality assurance of 24/7 interpreting services, which facilitate communication between patients with limited English proficiency or who are Deaf and healthcare providers. The manager plays a pivotal role in enabling public health services to provide equitable access to health care to culturally and linguistically diverse communities of NSW and upholding the district’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity in healthcare delivery.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in management or equivalent experience.
- Excellent understanding of issues pertaining to the provision of language services in a health care environment and high-level understanding of access and equity issues affecting people from CALD backgrounds.
- Proven high level achievement and in-depth experience in health service management within a complex environment including financial management. Demonstrated experience in policy development, implementation, and planning.
- Demonstrated ability to direct, lead and motivate a committed team to achieve organisational objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare complex submissions, reports and briefs, as well as excellent liaison with key stakeholders.
- Extensive understanding and experience in the field of quality improvement, including evidence of successful implementation of quality improvement initiatives, and support to accreditation of health services.
- Demonstrated commitment to, knowledge of and implementation of Work Health and Safety requirements, practices, and legislation.
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s licence and willingness to use for work purposes.
