Join our team at Prince of Wales Hospital Anaesthesia Department!
We currently have Visiting Medical Officer vacancies for Anaesthetist. The contracts are zero hours with an ASAP commencement through to 30th June 2027. There may be a possibility for extension with this appointment.
If you believe you are the right fit for this role, please click the link below to apply and become part of our team at Prince of Wales Hospital.

Prince of Wales Hospital is a tertiary referral adult hospital and the university hospital for UNSW. The successful applicants will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within Wales Anaesthesia, across all aspects of general adult anaesthesia. This includes procedural anaesthesia for all adult surgery (except cardiothoracic and O&G), perioperative care and acute pain management. The department has a thriving multidisciplinary perioperative service also seeking enthusiastic anaesthetists. All positions require commitment to on-call responsibilities. While these are zero hour positions covering much ad hoc work, preference will be given to those able to commit to regular weekly or fortnightly days. Over time, high calibre successful candidates can look to building a successful public practice within our dynamic department.

Anaesthesia services at Prince of Wales Hospital & Sydney Children's Hospital are also very closely allied, with many practitioners working across both departments. Cross accreditation to Sydney children's Hospital for this with appropriate interest and expertise in quarternary paediatric anaesthesia may also be available through this application process. This would allow successful applicants to develop a diverse and interesting anaesthesia practice, all on the Randwick campus.

Our staff strive to provide excellence in healthcare and uphold a high standard of care for all patients, families, carers and visitors to our facilities.
