The Kids Oncology and Leukaemia Trials (KOALA) team is offering an exciting opportunity to be part of something bigger - advancing childhood cancer care through world-class clinical research. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Research Officer to contribute to the national coordination of research projects led by the Kids Cancer Centre to advance the understanding of childhood cancer. This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of innovation while making a meaningful impact on outcomes for children and families. The KOALA team - embedded in the Kids Cancer Centre - is now based at the Minderoo Children's Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MCCCC). The MCCCC is a state-of-the-art facility and Australia’s first dedicated comprehensive cancer centre for children, bringing together research and clinical care in a world-class environment. What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the Research Officer is to contribute to translation of clinical research and data into evidence-based clinical practice and decision making. They will provide data analysis expertise to projects and trials within the KCC and support clinician-led research to improve outcomes for children with cancer.
This position requires research and data analysis experience ideally within a health-related field. Clinical experience is not required.

- Responses to the questions below:
- Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience in clinical research and data analysis, ideally within a health-related field, or a combination of both.
- Effective statistical analysis skills and use of statistical software e.g., Stata, R, SAS, etc.
- Highly proficient in computer programs including MS Office, with advanced MS Excel skills and experience with managing multiple databases
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to build successful working relationships with all levels of staff, management and collaborators.
- Excellent organisational, and time management skills and ability to prioritise to manage competing priorities.
- Capacity to work well in a team under minimal supervision, and willingness to contribute to broader research projects across the KCC.
- Demonstrated success conducting research activities with minimal supervision, with identifiable research output.
- Familiarity with research data governance and human research ethics principles and their application to the analysis of data.
