About the role - Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Nurse in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where your expertise and compassion will make a profound difference in the lives of our tiniest patients. We are seeking nurses with previous experience in a Special Care Unit (SCU) or NICU, who are confident in caring for preterm and surgical neonates and have a strong foundation in advanced neonatal clinical skills.

In this role, you will deliver exceptional, family-centred care in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with families, carers, and a dedicated multidisciplinary team. You will be encouraged to mentor and support junior staff, contributing to education, professional development, and the ongoing evolution of neonatal nursing practice.

📍 Where you’ll be working:

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at John Hunter Children’s Hospital in beautiful Newcastle, is one of the largest and busiest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit’s in NSW. This 43 bed unit provides Intensive Care support for newborns requiring medical and surgical care in the HNE and Mid North Coast area. You will join a dynamic, passionate team of Health Professionals, in a newly refurbished, state-of-the-art Unit, with the latest health care technology. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, innovative Clinical Nurse Educator who upholds the value of family centred care and professional growth and development of the staff of NICU.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife with AHPRA.

  • Valid ANMAC assessment under ANZSCO 254415 Registered Nurse (Critical Care and Emergency).
