About the Opportunity
Take the lead and drive the strategy behind an unprecedented, ambitious, complex, and transformative redevelopment of the Pathology Laboratory in Western Sydney.
Be part of a purpose‑led, people‑focused team in Westmead, this role will be based on location within the Westmead Laboratory.
What you'll be doing
The Redevelopment Director will assume leadership, the direct planning and implementation of strategies and programs associated, the Westmead Redevelopment. The role will provide strategic oversight and lead the project work in redeveloping the Westmead laboratory into a purpose-built facility.
The position requires the incumbent to achieve outcomes collaboratively and within established timeframes. The Redevelopment Director will be responsible for all aspects of the Westmead Redevelopment, including program planning, change management, and onsite coordination of the program of works.
The incumbent must demonstrate effective stakeholder management and strong relationship‑building skills across the Local Health District (LHD), NSWHP Executive, NSWHP Project Management Teams, Westmead Operational Leaders, Clinical Leaders and Laboratory Managers, Health Infrastructure, and all subcontracted partners, as they are essential to ensuring successful implementation and alignment with clinical operations.

- Extensive experience in managing medium to large and/or complex projects, including relevant project and change management qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Extensive knowledge in Pathology Laboratory Operations, and an understanding of the patient sample journey throughout the Laboratory Operations and the interlinking between departments that determine workflows.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing effective change in health service, including industrial, operational, commissioning, communications and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret architectural drawings, including floor plans and elevations.
- Knowledge of establishing and managing documentation and associated processes related to major projects.
- Highly developed analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analysis and reports, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, with proven experience engaging, collaborating with and influencing key stakeholders and customers to achieve optimal business outcomes.
- Proficiency in contemporary project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) or equivalent.
