Where you'll be working:
Ward H3 is a fast-paced Medical Assessment and Short Stay Unit (MACU/ESSU), delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient group. This dynamic ward operates across a 7-day roster, supporting patients through critical early stages of their hospital journey.
You’ll join a collaborative, supportive team of nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals who value teamwork, respect, and a positive attitude. The culture is welcoming and patient-focused, where every team member plays an important role in delivering excellent care. You will be supported with structured orientation and training.
About the role:
As a Patient Support Officer, you’ll be at the heart of ward operations - supporting patients, families, and clinical staff to ensure the ward runs efficiently and smoothly.
A typical shift may include:
- Welcoming and assisting patients, families, and visitors
- Managing phone enquiries and ward communications
- Coordinating patient admissions and discharges
- Preparing and maintaining patient charts
- Ordering and restocking ward supplies and stationery
- Assisting with general ward organisation and support tasks
This role follows a 7-day rotating roster, with shifts typically from 12:30pm to 9:00pm, including weekdays, weekends, public holidays, and the Christmas/New Year period.
