What you'll be doing
Intensive Care Paramedics (ICPs) are paramedic specialists who provide complex case management, clinical leadership and advanced clinical care in emergency and non-urgent care contexts. This role ensures that the health and medical needs of patients with more complex care needs are accurately assessed, and appropriate clinical care is implemented in line with NSW Ambulance policies and procedures.
When necessary, this position may be required to undertake the duties of a Paramedic or, where appropriately qualified, Extended Care Paramedic depending on the requirements of the situation.

- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and NSW Ambulance operational procedures and practice.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to undertake rigorous, self-directed, continuous learning and professional self-development relevant to the ICP role.
- An effective high level of verbal and written communication skills, as well as a good understanding of contemporary computer systems and systems specific to the ICP work environment.
- Demonstrated experience in operating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to self-critique and improve own performance.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills including providing guidance, advice and direction to Trainee Paramedics, Paramedic Interns, Paramedics, Trainee ICPs, Volunteers, Community First Responders and other staff as directed.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing ‘Our Values’ and promoting a respectful workplace through the support of other staff.
