Employment with Mid North Coast LHD requires candidates to hold a valid authority to work in Australia (Aust Work Rights Visa).  

What you'll be doing
Responsible for coordinating and supporting nursing students and other student cohorts undertaking placement within MNCLHD. This includes facilitating learning experiences, monitoring student progress and placement objectives and also contributing to a positive and supportive learning culture.

The position works collaboratively with Education Providers, Nursing Unit Managers and the Nurse Educator Grade 2 to maintain effective partnerships and ensure high‑quality, well‑coordinated placements. The role acts as a key liaison point for student‑related matters and supports consistent communication and expectations across all stakeholders.

At a facility level, the Nurse Educator is accountable for the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of education programs that support evidence‑based practice and person centred care. As a professional leader and role model, the Nurse Educator promotes a culture of safety, professionalism and commitment to support both students and nursing staff in their ongoing development

 

About You
You are a Registered Nurse with current registration through the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, supported by relevant post‑registration qualifications in clinical practice and education. You bring extensive experience in mentoring, clinical teaching, student facilitation and the coordination of adult learning programs across a range of settings inside and outside of healthcare.

You design, deliver and evaluate high‑quality education that supports the development of nursing students and early‑career clinicians. Your work includes planning and implementing structured learning activities, assessing learner progress, providing constructive and timely feedback, and ensuring that all educational experiences align with professional standards, curriculum requirements and organisational priorities. You are committed to creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, reflective practice and the safe transition of students into competent practitioners.

You collaborate effectively with education providers, Nursing Unit Managers, clinical facilitators and multidisciplinary teams to support student placements and broader workforce development initiatives.

You demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional communication skills and a high level of professionalism. You have the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate complex situations and resolve challenges constructively. Your practice is grounded in evidence‑based care, ethical standards and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

You are proficient in the use of contemporary digital platforms and software systems for data collection, reporting, documentation and educational delivery. You hold a current NSW driver’s licence and are willing to travel as required.
