About the opportunity
In this role, you will lead an Economic Advisory service responsible for delivering high-quality Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) and Financial Analysis (including Financial Impact Statements and Financial Appraisals) to inform business cases for major health capital projects. You will work in close partnerships with Health Infrastructure Regions (project teams), NSW Health Entities, and a broad network of internal and external subject matter experts to ensure robust, evidence-based investment decisions.

As a senior leader, you will:
-    Lead and continuously enhance HI’s economic advisory framework, including the CBA Toolkit, methodologies, templates, and public-facing guidance.
-    Provide strategic advice to shape NSW Health financial advisory frameworks, with a particular focus on strengthening the implementation of the Financial Impact Statement templates and guidance
-    Embed continuous improvement through evaluations and assurance, contributing to post-project reviews and translating insights into improved practices

This is a full-time permanent role. Remuneration will be determined with the successful candidate.

Please note that as Health Infrastructure is an organisation of NSW Health, the successful applicant must reside in NSW or be willing to relocate if appointed.

This recruitment may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future roles (ongoing or temporary) that may arise over the next 18 months. 

About you
You are an experienced economic and financial analyst with a strong track record in delivering rigorous, policy-aligned analysis to inform complex investment decisions. You combine technical expertise with strategic insight and can translate detailed modelling into clear, decision-ready advice.

You will bring:
•    Deep experience in CBA and financial analysis, ideally within government or advisory settings 
•    Strong understanding of business case and evaluation frameworks (e.g. NSW Treasury or equivalent) 
•    Advanced analytical, modelling and writing skills 
•    Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex environments 
•    Leadership capability, including mentoring and driving improvements in frameworks and methods

You operate with autonomy, manage competing priorities effectively, and are motivated to deliver high-quality outcomes for the health system and community.
