What you'll be doing
The position of Manager Health Information Services (HIS) Wyong reports to the District Manager HIS and is responsible for the overall effective operational management of Wyong HIS ensuring service delivery meets agreed key performance indicators (KPIs).

The position is responsible for management of all health records in both the scanned (digital/electronic) and paper formats as well as strategic, operational, financial and staff management which includes: recruitment, training, development and appraisal of Wyong HIS staff.  

The position provides leadership in relation to the management of health information and the transition to a digital (scanned) health record and eMR and is based at Wyong Hospital with the requirement to travel regularly across the District.

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management or equivalent; or demonstrated experience as a manager within health, with strong and proven knowledge of Health Information Services. Experience with a digitised medical record is preferable.
  2. Proven ability to motivate and provide strong leadership and strategic direction to a diverse team including the willingness and ability to cover all positions within the department when necessary ensuring seamless, customer-focussed service provision.
  3. Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation, conflict management, consultative liaison and the ability to conduct training and presentation sessions at all levels and to large groups.
  4. Demonstrated excellent planning, time management and organisational skills particularly in the area of managing multiple tasks and multidisciplinary issues to meet deadlines.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to develop and lead change management activities while maintaining an awareness of change management implementation issues.
  6. Knowledge, understanding and commitment to NSW Ministry of Health policies and procedures relevant to the management of health information and medical record management.
  7. Current NSW drivers licence and willingness to travel to all facilities within Central Coast Local Health District.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
