The Position

St John of God Burwood Hospital is d private psychiatric hospital providing comprehensive and holistic mental health care services in a setting of support and tranquillity. Located in Burwood, inner west Sydney, we provide psychiatric services to the local community and reaching into NSW. 

We currently have positions available within the Nursing Department for experienced Registered Nurses & Enrolled Nurses in mental health to join our clinical teams. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, these positions provide a high standard of care in delivering quality outcomes to our patients within the various wards of the hospital.

This is a fabulous opportunity to propel your career forward whilst utilising your current experience and skills within the Mental Health field of nursing.

These positions are being offered on a permanent and casual basis, working up to 76 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Mental Health experience or training.
  • Endorsed to administer medications
  • Knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, or seek help from appropriate resources.
  • Understanding of and ability to apply occupational health and safety principles to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
  • Work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  • Prioritise and multitask to achieve desired results.
  • Customer Focused
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of continuous quality improvement principles.
