About the Service
Based at Wallsend Health Campus, this role sits within the Maintenance Services team supporting Oral Health facilities across the region. The team is responsible for ensuring all electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure within dental clinics are safe, compliant, and fully operational to support high-quality patient care.
You’ll work in a collaborative, hands-on environment alongside clinicians, contractors, and suppliers, playing a vital role in maintaining essential healthcare infrastructure
About the Role
This role is ideally suited to a qualified electrician looking for a diverse, mobile position within a healthcare setting.
You will provide electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repair services across multiple dental clinics, ensuring all systems meet safety and compliance standards. Using a supplied fleet vehicle, you will travel between sites to respond to breakdowns, complete preventative maintenance, and support minor electrical installations.
Key responsibilities include:
Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across clinical and facility equipment
Performing preventative electrical maintenance to minimise downtime
Ensuring all electrical work complies with relevant Australian Standards and safety regulations
Supporting installation and commissioning of dental and facility-related electrical equipment
Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate works
Ordering electrical parts and maintaining accurate service records
This is a varied, autonomous role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving and working across a number of sites
About You
You are a licensed electrician with strong technical capability and a commitment to safety and compliance. You thrive in a hands-on role and take pride in delivering reliable, high-quality electrical work in environments where it truly matters.
You bring a proactive approach, can work independently, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Current Electrical Licence (NSW) - preferred
Demonstrated experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulatory compliance
Experience with commercial, industrial, or healthcare electrical systems (highly desirable)
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent time management and ability to prioritise urgent works
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
Current driver’s licence
Demonstrated intermediate computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and email.
