About the Opportunity 
South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) is committed to strengthening the capacity and capability of both current and future clinical trial units. The incumbent will be responsible for the effective and efficient coordination of multiple clinical trials within the Bankstown Medical Oncology Clinical Trials Unit, ensuring that all research activities are conducted in accordance with the approved protocol, relevant legislation, institutional policies, ethical requirements, and the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP). The role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and integrity across all clinical trial activities.

In addition, the position will actively promote and facilitate participation in clinical trials and research to support the translation of evidence into clinical practice across multidisciplinary fields.

What You'll be Doing

The incumbent will be responsible for effectively and efficiently coordinating multiple clinical trial and research projects. The position ensures the research is conducted in accordance with protocol, policy, legislation, ethical requirements and guidelines for evidence based clinical practice to maintain high quality. 

Additionally the position will endeavour to foster participation in clinical trials and research  to facilitate evidence based practice across multidisciplinary fields.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.

The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services across the hospital.   1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demostrated minimum 2 years experience in the field of research and/or clinical trials
  2. Well developed interpersonal, consultation, facilitation, negotiation and communication skills with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Demostrated understanding and experience in the ethical requirements for research including the NHMRC National Statement and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  4. Demostrated knowledge and ability to mentor members of the research team to enhance professional development
  5. Computer skills including proficiency in the use of MS Word and Excel, email, and understanding of database utilisation such as electronic Case Report Forms (eCRF)
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidiciplinary team
  7. Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment with proven capacity to prioritise, multi-task, achieve departmental goals with a customer focused approach.
  8. Ability to engage with all stakeholders involved with clinical trial management to meet contractual and protocol requirements
