About the Opportunity
As the Clinical Technology Service Operational Lead plays a pivotal role in enabling safe, reliable and seamless digital care across NSW Health. As part of the Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA), this role is responsible for coordinating and operating the Clinical Technology service model that underpins real‑time medical device data integration across the state.
In this role, you will provide hands-on operational leadership, overseeing the performance, security and stability of medical device integrations, gateways, middleware and clinical messaging platforms. You will lead day‑to‑day monitoring, incident response and service restoration activities, ensuring systems perform consistently and support safe clinical workflows. You will also drive continual service improvements by identifying recurring issues, strengthening processes, and enhancing operational readiness across the environment.
Working closely with SDPRIA teams, eHealth NSW, Local Health District Biomedical Engineering and ICT teams, clinical stakeholders, vendors and Service Management functions, you will ensure all components of the Clinical Technology ecosystem operate within agreed service levels. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical leadership skills, deep experience in healthcare ICT or clinical technology operations, and a commitment to supporting high-quality, state-wide digital health services.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the day‑to‑day operations of Clinical Technology services, ensuring medical device integrations and clinical messaging systems are reliable, secure and high performing.
- Monitor, triage and resolve operational issues, coordinating incident, problem and change management activities across technical, clinical and vendor teams.
- Drive continual service improvement by analysing service trends, addressing recurring issues, and strengthening operational processes, controls and documentation.
- Oversee maintenance, patching and cyber assurance activities to support the stability and readiness of devices, gateways, middleware and integration components.
- Provide leadership and direction to technical team members, managing workload, priorities and operational coverage to ensure consistent service delivery.
About You
- You bring strong experience in medical device integration, clinical technology operations or healthcare ICT, with a track record of maintaining reliable, high‑performing systems.
- You excel at coordinating technical teams, providing clear direction, prioritisation and leadership in fast‑paced operational environments.
- You are confident managing incident, problem and change processes within structured service frameworks such as ITIL.
- You communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders—including ICT, clinical teams, biomedical engineering and vendors—to collaboratively resolve issues and optimise service outcomes.
- You have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify risks, interpret trends and drive continual improvement in complex clinical environments.
You will succeed in this role if you:
- Enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same.
- Are motivated by tight deadlines and problem solving on the go.
- Can juggle multiple priorities while staying calm and outcome focused.
- Thrive when collaborating with others to deliver results in a fast-moving space.
