About the role
- Permanent part-time role working within the Sacred Heart Health Service, a publicly funded sub-acute facility, co-located with St Vincent's Hospital Sydney
- The service is one of Australia's largest and leading palliative care and rehabilitation providers and offers inpatient and outpatient services
- The Clinical Phycologist will provide psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions for consumers of the palliative care service and their families
- Assess, diagnose, formulate and treat psychological distress and dysfunction in the palliative care context
- Participate in clinical reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings to support decision making around the treatment planning and delivery for consumers of the palliative care service
- Work collaboratively with consumers, their families and natural supports, providing information, education and skills training as appropriate
About you
- Current unrestricted NSW Drivers License
- Full psychologist registration with AHPRA
- Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or working towards endorsement
- Accredited postgraduate Master's or Doctorate degree in clinical psychology, with a minimum duration of two years full-time (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience working with people in acute hospital or palliative care settings
- Knowledge of assessment and evidence-based psychological interventions for distress and dysfunction related to palliative care
