Where you'll be working

The Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC) is committed to providing leadership in safety and quality to improve health care for patients in NSW. The primary focus of the CEC is to promote and support improved clinical care, safety and quality across the NSW public health system, and to meet functions specified by the Minister for Health. The CEC Strategic Plan places priority on delivering high performing reliable systems and ensuring safety and quality in the provision of healthcare for ‘every patient, every time’ is consistent across NSW Health.


What you'll be doing

The Clinical Lead, Medical Device Governance, contributes to and supports the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and refinement of project management and change processes to ensure a coordinated implementation of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) reforms across NSW Health, supporting the CEC quality improvement initiatives in line with the CEC strategic priorities.

This position will focus on the development and implementation of strategic and operational frameworks underpinning the Medical Device Governance Program. The position is also responsible for project management and internal processes that support the Program. This will be in accordance with CEC program deliverables and will require liaison with NSW Health entities and clinical services to provide program support.

Remuneration: $132,236.00 - $150,222.00 per annum, plus superannuation

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in a health discipline and demonstrated experience in a large and complex health services environment.
  2. Sound understanding of the regulation of medical devices in Australia and knowledge of the Therapeutic Goods Administration regulatory reforms.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and/or achievements in project management methodologies.
  4. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and negotiation skills including experience engaging and influencing internal and external stakeholders to promote, communicate and implement change and improvement initiatives.
  5. Demonstrated high level analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify and address program risks and escalate to the relevant stakeholder(s).
  6. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to develop robust reporting tools, and manage the provision of status reports and briefings in support of the program.
  7. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communications skills with experience in engaging a broad audience, and the ability to effectively convey key messages to diverse audiences in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
  8. Effective time management skills with demonstrated capability to prioritise workload, work flexibly, collaboratively, and independently to deliver outcomes within program timeframes.
