About this role

The Strategy and Transformation Team within the Centre for Aboriginal Health (CAH) is seeking a proactive and motivated Assistant Project Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide high‑quality administrative, stakeholder and office support services that enable the effective delivery of strategic and operational projects designed to transform Aboriginal health outcomes across NSW Health.

Working closely with project leads and a wide range of internal and external partners, you will play an important part in coordinating project activities, supporting stakeholder engagement processes, preparing documentation, tracking progress across strategic initiatives, and ensuring the smooth operation of day‑to‑day project functions. Your contribution will help drive meaningful change and support system transformation that improves the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people across the state.

Crown Clerk Grade 5/6 starting salary from $99,938 - $110,271 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week. This is a full-time ongoing role.

In partnership with communities and grounded in culture, the Centre for Aboriginal Health drives system transformation to elevate Aboriginal health.
The Centre for Aboriginal Health works across NSW Health to influence policy, strengthen partnerships, uplift cultural capability and support initiatives that embed Aboriginal voices and leadership into health system design and delivery. Our work is guided by cultural integrity, community‑led approaches and a commitment to closing the gap in health outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver a comprehensive range of project support functions, including diary and meeting management, routine databases, secretariat support to committees and document production.
  • Undertake small projects and other associated project support functions to successfully deliver key milestones and outcomes.
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, presentations, reports and submissions across projects and key strategic initiatives.
  • Receive, assess and manage email and telephone enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and manage approval and correspondence for signature by the Directors, correcting for quality, and/ or seeking additional information or clarification from the author if necessary.
  • Coordination of team administrative and project support to meet critical timelines.
