About the Role:
Belmont Hospital is looking for a motivated and reliable Administration Officer to support our Admissions Team. This is a diverse and fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll manage patient admissions for surgical procedures, process Ready for Admission (RFA) booklets, update patient information, handle phone enquiries about surgical waitlists, and troubleshoot issues such as rescheduling and logistical changes.
You’ll also be responsible for general clerical duties, maintaining accurate records, producing administrative reports, and working collaboratively with key departments such as wards, theatre and day surgery. If you thrive on building relationships, solving problems, and supporting smooth patient care journeys, this could be your next step.
Where you'll be working:
You’ll join a close-knit team of approximately 50 administration staff who pride themselves on a friendly, open and honest workplace culture. We foster a strong sense of family, and support one another through shared values of integrity, teamwork and community-minded healthcare.
This role is based at Belmont Hospital, a community-focused facility that offers a more personal working environment without the high-pressure pace of larger institutions. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Lake Macquarie, our hospital is just minutes from scenic walking tracks, family parks, lakeside picnic areas and some of the state’s best beaches, restaurants and cafés.
What you'll need to succeed:
We're looking for someone who brings a strong mix of attitude, adaptability, and communication skills. Specifically, we’re seeking someone who is:
- Computer literate and a fast learner - you’re comfortable with digital systems and can adapt quickly to new technology.
- Honest, friendly and hardworking - you're committed to contributing to a team culture built on trust and mutual support.
- A flexible team player - you value collaboration, respond positively to change, and enjoy working alongside others.
- Punctual and professional - your strong communication skills and reliability help keep things moving efficiently.
- Previous experience in health administration is beneficial but not essential - we value a great attitude and the right aptitude.
We will support you to thrive:
From day one, you’ll be supported by an experienced Administration Manager and your wider team. You’ll receive both on-the-job guidance and access to ongoing learning through My Health Learning, as part of our commitment to your professional development. We actively encourage you to grow in your role and explore further career progression opportunities within the hospital.
Additional Information:
- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
