About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within the Medical Administration Unit at Liverpool Hospital for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our friendly and supportive team as the Junior Medical Officer (JMO) Rostering Manager.

This critical role is responsible for overseeing the coordination and management of JMO rostering, payroll, and remuneration processes to ensure the accurate and timely processing of rosters and payments. The JMO Rostering Manager plays a key role in maintaining and optimising HealthRoster, ensuring compliance with industrial awards, and supporting workforce efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage JMO rostering and payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Maintain and optimise HealthRoster, ensuring alignment with operational and workforce needs.
  • Provide expert advice on JMO awards, entitlements, and remuneration, ensuring adherence to industrial agreements and workforce policies.
  • Lead and support the rostering team, ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of rostering and payroll-related activities.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance rostering practices, workforce planning, and payroll accuracy.

The successful candidate will have or be willing to develop expertise in HealthRoster, JMO awards, and payroll processes and demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills. What You'll be Doing
The main purpose of this position is the management of the payroll and remuneration of Junior Medical Officers at Liverpool Hospital and is responsible for maintenance of rostering in HealthRoster.


Where You'll Be Working 

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

How did you engage with stakeholders, what reporting and diagnostics strategies did you use, and what strategies did you use to balance operational requirements with staff wellbeing, award requirements and efficiency targets?
  3. Rostering decisions can significantly impact staff morale and service delivery. Drawing on your skills and experience in workforce planning and rostering, how do you build trust and maintain transparent communication with staff and senior management when managing rostering decisions, changes, and challenges? Please provide an example where you successfully navigated a complex rostering issue while ensuring stakeholder engagement and operational efficiency.
