Fairfield Hospital is seeking a committed and passionate Registered Midwife to join our antenatal Clinic team, in a part-time role that offers flexibility, professional fulfilment and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of women and families within our community.
The role will encompass 2 days as a safe start midwife where you will be responsible for chairing the safe start meeting, conduct safestart midwives clinic and bookings, co-ordinate care for women at risk The other day will be working as an Antenatal Clinic midwife.
This role is ideal for midwives seeking a work-life balance, consistent daytime hours and the chance to practice woman centred, evidence -based antenatal care, in a supportive and collaborative environment. If you are passionate about early intervention, person‑centred care, and supporting women and families during pregnancy and early parenting, this is the perfect role for you.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
1. Current Authority to Practice as a Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Post-registration qualifications or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
2. Can you describe your experience providing midwifery care in an antenatal clinic, including the types of appointments and assessments you are familiar with? Please also outline how you communicate clinical information to women with low health literacy and ensure their understanding.
3. What is your understanding of the SAFE START policy, psychosocial risk assessment tools, and perinatal mental health considerations?
