SIT - AMB AO-SM

1. Applicants must hold all required certifications, licences, registrations and qualifications (including but not limited to current Certificate to Practice, registration as a paramedic, and a current NSW Driver Licence) and undertake necessary and relevant training and work experience as determined by NSW Ambulance and must have successfully completed the AMQ or will need to be enrolled on an AMQ program within 12 months of appointment.
2. Evidence of training and/or demonstrated practical experience in the supervision of emergency management/scene management either through actual events or active participation in programmed special events.
3. An understanding of protocols, pharmacology’s and procedures as applied by paramedics.
4. Sound knowledge of Ambulance Service operations and infrastructure and ability to interpret and apply Ambulance Service industrial awards and agreements and human resources policies and practices.
5. Well-developed problem solving, analytical and decision making skills.
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including consultation, presentation, facilitation and negotiation.
7. Ability to plan, prioritise, and report against key performance indicators, supervise support functions such as stores, vehicle usage and monitor clinical compliance with Service protocols and Patient Health Care records.
8. Demonstrated people management skills, including providing staff support, staff development, performance management and the early identification of unacceptable workplace behaviours and taking appropriate action such as investigation, resolution and monitoring of harassment and bullying, grievance issues and conflict resolution.
