Pelvic Floor Registered Nurse
A part time position is available for a Registered Nurse within the established and highly regarded Neurogastroenterology Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital. This is a predominantly clinical role with the nurse assisting and performing diagnostic tests within our department such as Manometry but will also involve treating patients with constipation and faecal incontinence in a clinic setting.

What you'll be doing
The Pelvic Floor Nurse is a Registered Nurse who has the responsibility for co-ordinating and performing clinical tests of anorectal manometry and depending on demand, oesophageal manometry via a Speciality Neurogastroenterology Clinic.
This will involve liaising with Gastroenterologists, Gastrointestinal Surgeons, other nurses, administrative and other staff, patients and carers to ensure procedures are performed in an efficient, effective, comfortable manner.
The position will involve analysing the manometry tracings and assisting in preparation of reports.
Once the manometry skills are proficient, the role will involve expanding into biofeedback, a technique using manometry to treat patients with anorectal disorders such as constipation and faecal incontinence.
Full training will be provided for this role within the unit.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience is required.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
- A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
