Are you a newly graduate Enrolled Nurse looking for a supportive program to assist your transition into the workforce- then this graduate program is for you. This program is a supportive twelve month graduate enrolled nurse program that offers a supportive environment to transition into the acute workforce. You will be supported by an experienced and dedicated team in and after hours by the Nurse Educators of Transition and by the team on the ward you will be working. The program will consists of two 6 months rotations through a variety of clinical areas. The Role
As an Enrolled Nurse at Prince of Wales Hospital, you’ll deliver high-quality, compassionate care while working in a collaborative, person-centred environment. Supported by experienced Registered Nurses, you’ll grow your skills through a structured 12-month graduate program designed to help you confidently transition into acute care. Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection criteria
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration, including intravenous therapy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders.
- Supports working in a person centred environment.
- Current professional practice knowledge base.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
