Stepping Stones provides specialist mental health rehabilitation services to people at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness and require a period of rehabilitation to ensure stable accommodation. The Registered Nurse (RN) position is integral to service delivery and plays a critical role in enhancing consumer access to a range of community‑based accommodation options

What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse (RN) within Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) Services leads and supports quality patient health outcomes with a focus of recovery across a range of health care settings. The RN assumes a leadership role within the nursing team supporting, coaching and leading nursing staff including Enrolled Nurses (EN) and Assistants in Nursing (AIN). The RN plans, implements and evaluates specific mental health nursing care activities that support the multidisciplinary health care team and ensures safe practice within adopted models of care.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Ability to understand, interpret, and analyse complex issues with proven conceptual thinking skills for effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  3. Demonstrated experience working within mental health settings and skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessments.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to a consumer focused recovery-oriented approach and consumer collaboration in care planning.
  5. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management skills and the ability to proactively engage with consumers to enhance service delivery.
  6. Demonstrated experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  7. Demonstrated computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems.
  8. Current NSW Drivers Licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
