Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FAFRM) or Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Extensive experience in the clinical management of intellectual disability and demonstrated commitment to provision of a high standard of clinical care as a senior medical practitioner.
- Demonstrated capacity to communicate, negotiate and collaborate at a high level, both verbally and in written form. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and carers, colleagues, and staff, including the ability to write timely and clear reports with relevant recommendations.
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with other staff and practitioners in a multidisciplinary care team.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality education sessions for health professionals.
- Evidence of and commitment to quality improvement methodologies.
- Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
