What you'll be doing
The Nurse Manager Workforce and Specialty Services provides strategic leadership in the development and implementation of the Nursing and Midwifery workforce planning, the implementation and monitoring of workforce systems and the coordination of Nursing and Midwifery systems improvement projects.
 
Providing operational and professional management of a cohort of senior Nursing and Midwifery staff including, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Staffing and After Hours Nurse Managers.
 
Clinician engagement and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus. The local health district (LHD) is committed to the strengthening and ongoing involvement and clinician engagement of staff that provide direct patient care in the planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of its health services.
  1. Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a post graduate qualification in leadership/management
  2. Demonstrated high level experience with self-directed work, undertaking projects, change management and achieving timely results
  3. Highly developed leadership and communication skills including proven interpersonal, coaching, negotiation and advocacy skills and skills in writing high quality reports and documents
  4. Demonstrated understanding of Reasonable Workload tools, award staffing arrangements and subsequent monitoring systems to support the effective and efficient use of nursing and midwifery resources
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues relating to Nursing/ Midwifery professional practice
  6. Understanding of and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision making process that impact on positive patient outcomes
