What you will be doing:

An amazing opportunity is now available to join our Medical Imaging Short Term Staffing pool team on a casual basis, where you may be required to work across our various facilities here at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Your role, as a Radiographer - Level 2, will see you provide a high-quality medical imaging service across a range of clinical areas that is patient focused and in accordance with the objectives and policies of NBMLHD. The Radiographer will also ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients of the service, using current medical imaging safety standards.

This position is an imperative role within the team, and our preferred candidates will participate in, as well as support quality improvement activities at departmental levels, including initiate/assist with strategies to control and avoid hazards in the workplace and is responsible for maintaining infection control and a clean and tidy workplace.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form).

 

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.


Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  1. Possess the following qualifications: 1. A Degree in Medical Radiation Science in Diagnostic Radiography 2. Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) as a Medical Radiation Practitioner. 3. I14 Radiation Licence from NSW EPA
  2. Previous experience in a hospital environment such as General, Theatre, CT, Mobile, CT and Trauma Radiography
  3. Demonstrated understanding of Work, Health and Safety, and Infection Control in a Radiology context
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  5. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage time effectively in a clinical environment
