The successful candidate(s) for our Provisional Fellow position will complete one to two 6-month terms (i.e., 6-12 months) of sub-specialty training in paediatric radiology. There may be potential for a longer contract.

About Our Role
Our Provisional Fellows provide effective management of the Medical Imaging service at Prince of Wales Hospital, under appropriate supervision. In paediatric terms, this includes diagnosis and management of paediatric patients for Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and neonatal units at the Royal Hospital for Women.
The successful applicant(s) will be trained in all aspects of paediatric radiology. This includes advanced diagnostic procedures and basic interventional procedures and participation in clinicoradiology meetings. They would also be expected to participate in Departmental Quality & CPD activities and the teaching programme for Medical Imaging Registrars and Fellows when required. The Department also operates in the UNSW MRI research facility and radiologists are expected to support research.
Department of Medical Imaging
The Department of Medical Imaging includes two CT scanners, DR/CR general X-ray Rooms, two 1.5 TMRI scanners, one 3T MRI scanner, a single and biplane Angiography Suite, three Ultrasounds, and a fluoroscopy room. From 2023, the Department also services the new Acute Services Building on campus for adult and paediatric radiology with extra modalities including MRI, CT and ultrasound.

MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (or eligible within 12 months of the position start date) or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
Demonstrated high level communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience.
Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
Demonstrated excellent academic record and demonstrated high level of radiology skills and clinical judgement.
Demonstrated previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training. Demonstrated interest and commitment to further education and self monitoring/audit practices.
