What you'll be doing
To provide high level radiographic services to patients across NSW Health and ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients.


ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

The NSW Health Deployment Program (NSWHDP) supports the NSW Health workforce. The NSWHDP  provides a variety of nursing, midwifery and allied health staff to locations across NSW Health Hospitals and facilities.   
 
The team supports local communities to maintain health workforce in a variety of health settings. The NSWHDP  provides a unique opportunity to experience remote and regional NSW with lifestyle and career experience benefits.

  1. Tertiary qualification in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) with current authority to practice as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (Ahpra), current NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) radiation licence and meets current Health Employees' Medical Radiation Scientists (State) Award conditions for Level 3 Grade 1.
  2. Possess extensive clinical expertise and competency in an area of specialisation or possess an appropriate recognised post graduate diploma in Computerised Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, or Mammography.
  3. Demonstrate extensive clinical reasoning skills, knowledge, technical expertise and capabilities in the performance of all general diagnostic medical imaging procedures inclusive of CR/DR/RIS/PACS systems.
  4. Demonstrate effective communication through the use of information technology and well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Demonstrate ability to be flexible, work independently and work as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Demonstrate experience in quality assurance and commitment to continuous quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice.
  7. Demonstrate computer skills including applications such as Microsoft Office, email, intranet and electronic medical information systems.
  8. Current drivers’ licence with the capacity and willingness to travel to rural locations within Capacity and willingness to travel to NSW Health business and service locations throughout NSW which will include overnight stays in regional/remote areas. These deployments will make up the majority of your time in the position.
