What you'll be doing
Provide clinical services offering counseling, advocacy, education, community development, information, and support to children, young people, adults, and non-offending family members who have experienced sexual assault.
  • To promote culturally appropriate service provision to Aboriginal clients of the service through direct service delivery, cultural consultation, and collaboration with the service and the Violence Abuse and Neglect stream

  • To prioritize sexual assault service provision to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients of the service that promotes timely, effective, and culturally safe health interventions.
  1. Applicants must be female. This is a genuine occupational qualification under the Anti- Discrimination Act (1977).
  2. Demonstrated experience in providing clinical intervention to children, young people, adults and families who experienced trauma.
  3. Knowledge of child development, current theories and research In relation to trauma and sexual assault.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to work effectively with partner agencies.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of the legal and policy frameworks governing child protection services In NSW.
  6. Demonstrated high level communication both verbal and written with the capacity to record accurately In computerised client management systems.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with Aboriginal community members and be part of providing a culturally safe environment for colleagues and service to children, young people, and their parents/carers
