What you'll be doing 
As a Registered Nurse (Mental Health), you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based clinical care that promotes psychological wellbeing, physical health and emotional resilience. You will work closely with consumers, families and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure safe, coordinated and empowering care.

  • Conduct holistic mental health assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of care

  • Build and maintain therapeutic relationships that support recovery and symptom management

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical interventions across the mental health spectrum

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with professional and legal standards

  • Contribute to continuous improvement, clinical review, supervision and professional development

Essential Requirements:

Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Registered Nurse who has completed a new graduate RN program or experience working as a Registered Nurse

  2. Demonstrated experience working with people presenting with an acute mental health problem

  3. Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills with proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team within minimal direct clinical supervision

  4. Proven effective high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent professional judgement when solving problems

  5. Working knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act 2007

  6. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with consumers and carers regarding mental health care

  7. An understanding of the recovery philosophy and trauma informed care in Mental Health and the ability to implement these within clinical practice

  8. Current NSW drivers licence
