Join Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) for a dynamic opportunity as a Health Clinician Level 3 in our Suicide Prevention Team. Showcase your exceptional skills and contribute meaningfully to the Central Coast community services alongside our diverse Community Mental Health team.


About the Role

The suicide prevention outreach team (SPOT) at Wyong Hospital provides support to people in suicidal crisis across all phases of the CCLHD Suicide Prevention Pathway. This position will provide a timely and clinically appropriate response that supports people experiencing distress to remain in their community when safe to do so. 
 
While this position is embedded in the CCLHD Mental Health Service it maintains a focus on suicide prevention for the wider LHD. This position will also participate in the delivery of training and resources to support the adoption of the Suicide Prevention pathway across the service.

This role is graded for the following:

  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2.
  • Clinical Psychologist.
  • Occupational Therapist Level 3. 
  • Senior Psychologist.
  • Social Worker Level 3.

About You

  • You have demonstrated ability to provide evidence based mental health care including mental health care coordination to a case load of consumers in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting.
  • You possess demonstrated knowledge and experience in the assessment and management of people who are at risk of suicide, with the ability to form supportive therapeutic relationships with a consumer and with people experiencing distress or experiencing a personal crisis.
  • You have demonstrated ability to utilise a broad range of communication, facilitation and negotiation skills in a wide variety of settings, including the ability to access computerised information systems and generate quality written reports as well as Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence and ability to travel as part of the role.
