• A bachelor degree in Environmental Health or an equivalent qualification (if employed under the Environmental Health Officers Determination).
• Employment experience which is relevant to this role, for example undertaking activities in health promotion, community education or tobacco control/ enforcement.
• The ability to effectively design, plan, implement and evaluate projects to achieve desired outcomes.
• Sound communication skills with the ability to effectively consult, negotiate, liaise and collaborate with people at all levels of the organisation and NSW Health; as well as the ability to communicate sensitively with members of the public across a diverse range of education levels and awareness of tobacco and related legislation.
• The ability to work effectively as a member of a team, actively supporting others and providing advice and education where required; while also able to work independently to plan and achieve role objectives.
• Sound information and communication technology skills, including competency in standard software packages including Microsoft Office applications, for word processing, email correspondence, internet research, and data entry and reporting from spreadsheets and databases.
• Current licence to drive in NSW and ability to regularly travel across the region and beyond as required, including overnight stays.
