Expedited Specialist Pathways
Are you an International Medical Graduate (IMG) seeking specialist registration in Australia? The Expedited Specialist Pathway offers a streamlined route for eligible doctors to gain recognition and start practicing sooner. The Expedited Specialist Pathway is currently available for eligible doctors in the specialties of General Practice, Anaesthesia, Psychiatry, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with plans for expansion into other specialties. To be eligible for the Expedited Specialist Pathway, specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) must hold a specialist qualification on the Medical Board’s Expedited Specialist Pathway accepted qualifications list. Accepted specialists can start practicing when the Medical Board has granted you specialist registration and approved your supervised position, with a period of six (6) months supervised practice being completed.
