About the Role

Join the Speech Pathology team at Deniliquin Health Service as part of a dynamic, supportive multidisciplinary Allied Health team. This generalist, mixed caseload position spans both adult and paediatric areas, delivering inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services across Deniliquin, Moama, Barham, Finley, and surrounding communities, including via telehealth.

You'll assess, diagnose, and treat clients across the lifespan within a passionate and well-connected Speech Pathology network across MLHD. Formal supervision arrangements are in place, with additional opportunities for clinical shadowing at other MLHD sites.

Key Deliverables:

  • Deliver patient-centred speech pathology services across clinical areas and settings, including telehealth and outreach, in line with professional, legal, and ethical standards
  • Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes and facilitate safe, timely discharge
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation including progress notes, care plans, and referrals
  • Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and colleagues, demonstrating cultural awareness and a commitment to Aboriginal health outcomes
  • Participate in clinical supervision, professional development, and quality improvement activities
  • Contribute to supervision of Allied Health Assistants and students; at Level 2, supervise Level 1 staff and lead guideline development

 

Our Ideal Candidate will have:

  • A Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Demonstrated clinical experience across a range of practice areas, delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care including via telehealth
  • Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Confident problem-solver with the ability to analyse situations and develop practical solutions using available resources
  • Committed to professional development, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborative team player who aligns with NSW Health's CORE values and holds a current Class C driver's licence
