Westmead Hospital is a leading Australian tertiary and research hospital within Western Sydney Local Health District. The Pharmacy Sterile Production Unit produces critical medications for patients across the hospital network, operating to stringent GMP standards within a world-class clinical environment.

What you'll be doing
In this senior technical leadership role your expertise will drive quality, compliance and efficiency across the sterile production unit. You will supervise staff, maintain GMP compliance and ensure the timely, safe delivery of sterile pharmaceutical products to clinical areas.

In this role you will:
 

  • Lead and supervise sterile manufacturing tasks in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice requirements

  • Ensure timely production and delivery of sterile products while maintaining accurate inventory and legal records

  • Train and develop pharmacy technicians, students and other staff in sterile production techniques

  • Drive compliance with national GMP guidelines and local policies and contribute to quality assurance programs

  • Support the Coordinator in operational planning and service improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria:
 

  • Qualifications: Certificate Level IV OR has qualifications deemed to be equivalent. 
     

Selection Criteria:
 

  1. Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  2. Demonstrated extensive experience in hospital pharmacy sterile manufacturing services.

  3. Demonstrated attention to fine details and accuracy at work.

  4. Demonstrated leadership skills, proficiency in staff supervision and extensive experience in training and development.

  5. Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effect practice change.

  7. Demonstrated skills in information technology: using computer applications including dispensing, database management, spreadsheet, and word processing programs.

  8. Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required.
