The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is seeking motivated Registered Nurses to join our dynamic Perioperative team in Anaesthetics and Recovery (PACU). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly specialised paediatric environment where you will care for children across a wide range of surgical specialties and levels of acuity. In Anaesthetics, you will play a key role in preparing and supporting paediatric patients and their families through the perioperative journey, working closely with Anaesthetists to deliver safe, compassionate and technically skilled care. In Recovery, you will provide advanced post‑anaesthetic care to patients emerging from surgery, including complex airway management, pain and sedation management, and high-dependency postoperative monitoring. No two days are the same, and you will develop strong critical‑thinking skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. Whether you are looking to transition into Anaesthetic or Recovery nursing, or further develop your existing experience, you will be supported by experienced clinicians committed to education, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Recent paediatric experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting.
  5. Effective time management skills
  6. Computer literacy.
  7. Capacity to work a seven (7) day rotating roster including public holidays
