McGrath Cancer Care Nurse: Breast – Compassionate Support When Women Need It Most.

 

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse consultant with expertise to join our team as a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse-breast, at Young. This rewarding role ensures women diagnosed with breast cancer receive expert, compassionate breast care nursing support when they need it most. The position is primarily based in Young and also provides services to surrounding communities including Cootamundra, Harden and Boorowa, supporting women across the region.
In this role, you will use your advanced clinical knowledge to support women throughout their breast cancer journey—from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation, follow-up and palliative care. You will play a key role in improving each person’s health and wellbeing, providing care that reflects their individual needs, concerns and preferences.

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • At least 5 years fulltime equivalent post registration clinical experience, with 3 years experience in oncology, breast care nurse or related discipline.
  • Providing specialised breast care, education and support in line with evidence-based practice. Developing and facilitating implementation and evaluation of comprehensive care and management plans, along side multidisciplinary teams and community services.
  • Offer expert clinical advice and leadership in breast care to clients, staff and healthcare providers
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient or service issues to senior staff 
  • Contribute to service planning, research, quality improvement initiatives and operational objectives
