We are a department of approximately 50 clinicians with varied skillsets and knowledge working with acute and rehabilitation patients in inpatient, outpatient and community settings. About the role:
This is a temporary full-time position within our department working as the Senior Occupational Therapist in the Amputee and Rehabilitation Service. This position will be responsible for a clinical caseload in amputees including the specialised area of upper limb amputees, as well as supervising Level 1/2 Occupational Therapists within the rehab team.
We are seeking strong leadership in this space and there are various other roles and responsibilities you will have as a Senior clinician in our department. Our Amputee/Rehabilitation senior is part of the Rehab stream within our department meaning you will be working alongside other rehab senior and level 1/2 clinicians.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification: Degree or Masters in Occupational therapy 

  • Registration: AHPRA registration with Occupational Therapy 

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Current Registration with AHPRA.

  2. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in amputee and inpatient rehabilitation settings.

  3. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.

  4. Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.

  5. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.

  6. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.

  7. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.

  8. Current Class C Drivers Licence.
