What you'll be doing
The Youth Drug and Alcohol Clinical Service (DACS) Clinical Psychologist will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence based best practice specialist psychological services to young people aged under 18 years and under with substance use problems and complex comorbidities; maintain a high standard of clinical documentation; contribute to efficient service delivery; achieve performance indicators, and facilitate support of clients through the range of services provided by Youth DACS and the broader service system.
- Generally registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology.
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based psychological, behavioural management and counselling interventions in a multidisciplinary team, for young people with complex physical, psychological and substance use comorbidities.
- Extensive effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with diverse patient and/or consumer populations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
- Commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and an understanding of the issues that impact on delivery in relation to the field of psychological practice.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
- Extensive contemporary experience and knowledge of psychological practice.
