What you'll be doing
The Youth Drug and Alcohol Clinical Service (DACS) Clinical Psychologist will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence based best practice specialist psychological services to young people aged under 18 years and under with substance use problems and complex comorbidities; maintain a high standard of clinical documentation; contribute to efficient service delivery; achieve performance indicators, and facilitate support of clients through the range of services provided by Youth DACS and the broader service system.
  1. Generally registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia with area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based psychological, behavioural management and counselling interventions in a multidisciplinary team, for young people with complex physical, psychological and substance use comorbidities.
  3. Extensive effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with diverse patient and/or consumer populations.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
  5. Commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and an understanding of the issues that impact on delivery in relation to the field of psychological practice.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes
  7. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
  8. Extensive contemporary experience and knowledge of psychological practice.
